Chapter 316

Death Row Night Feast: Who the Hell Are You?!

The situation inside the Death Row Cells was eerily bizarre.

In the central cage, Steve lay limply on the ground, muttering, "I killed him…" His expression was withered, worse than what Du Chen had seen days ago. However, a small bulge appeared on the skin near his collar, and a tiny bead of what looked like sweat emerged. Such a minute detail went almost unnoticed by anyone. This small thing was, naturally, Dus, stealthily observing the situation and relaying every detail within the Death Row Cells to Du Chen.

Beside the cage, a towering Battle God clad in full armor was locked in fierce combat with two seemingly rustic maidens. At the entrance, four strange figures, cloaked in long robes and wide hoods, their faces hidden by iron masks, hovered in a peculiar formation. One remained motionless – he was isolating sound – while the other three continuously changed their hand gestures, activating an array to swiftly eliminate the Death Row Cells guards trapped within the Auerbach Hurricane Array.

With the Crimson Mausoleum Guards isolating sound, Hawkins unleashed his full power, his twin fists striking with the force of tigers, exuding an overwhelming battle qi. Yet, at this moment, his heart was filled with intense frustration. "Damn it, where did these two women spring from?! By their appearance, they’re just ordinary human country girls, yet I, a dignified scion of the Saint Baton Clan, am only marginally stronger when they fight together…"

Hawkins was being pushed to his limits by the two village girls! He seemed to hear a voice in his ear. He roared, redoubling his efforts!

Helen and Sulan were not having an easy time either. Within her Battle Soul, Sulan transmitted: "Miss, those four strange figures have eliminated another dozen guards. Once they finish off all the guards, we'll be in deep trouble… Good heavens, this hulking brute's punches are getting even heavier!"

"Hold on a little longer!" Helen's strength was slightly inferior, so Sulan had been directly confronting Hawkins, with Helen providing support from the side. "Father already knows the situation here; he's rushing over! The moment Father arrives, this man before us is dead!"

Sulan stuck out her tongue. "Miss, these individuals smell so strange. Their sweat smells much stronger than normal humans, and there's a wild, musky odor typically found only in animals. I fear they aren't human at all, but beastmen or Aberrant Beasts who've taken human form!"

Just then, the motionless Crimson Mausoleum Guard, whose eyes had been constantly scanning, suddenly noticed several stone chips fall from the eastern wall. He urgently shouted, "Watch out…"

Du Chen had arrived!

The moment the stone chips fell from the wall, a golden light and a black light simultaneously burst forth from within, charging towards Hawkins and Helen respectively. Du Chen hadn't yet realized that Helen was actually protecting Steve; he mistakenly believed two factions were clashing over Steve and thus treated them all as enemies. Furthermore, Du Chen had only ever seen the serpentine Sulan's attacks on Mount Tianshan, and had only witnessed a single display of Helen's Secret Technique (Spiritual Power). Upon seeing these two opponents disguised as village girls, he immediately held nothing back!

Deboning reverted to its normal form, streaking like lightning behind Hawkins, immediately followed by a flash of the Blade descending upon his head!

Hawkins frantically tried to counter. With Helen in front and Deboning behind, he was thrust into a desperate, almost certain death situation! Relying on his Battle God's instincts, he keenly perceived that a blow from the two village girls in front would only result in injury, but the individual behind him was far more formidable; a single strike from him would undoubtedly mean his demise!

Making an instant decision, Hawkins suddenly leaped high, his legs spiraling… There was no time for a proper landing; in mid-air, he braced his hands against his knees, abruptly lowering his head – the Beast Emperor's Unyielding Wall was unleashed!

Though it was only half a move, Hawkins was not Jamis, that shiftless Gambler, nor was he like his clueless, outmatched nephew! He possessed sufficient power to unleash the true might of the Beast Emperor's Unyielding Wall!

"There's that move again, Miss, dodge quickly!" Sulan had suffered greatly from this very technique just moments before, and now, pulling Helen, she hastily evaded, not daring to press the attack.

Hawkins wasn't targeting them. After ducking his head, he abruptly twisted, his hands tearing at the air before him as if ripping prey, creating a profound, dark spatial rift that opened between him and Deboning!

Deboning gave a proud chuckle, gripping the hilt of its other Blade. With a lowered shoulder, it charged forward. The resplendent, silver light, like a falling silver moon, shimmered slightly as it touched the black space, then pierced through the void, advancing with resolute might!

Hawkins was utterly terrified, his liver and guts turning to water. The Beast Emperor's Unyielding Body immediately shielded his entire form! But Deboning's Blade drew closer, "Pffft," cleaving into his left shoulder. Deboning's curved Blade then retracted, but its body subtly drifted to the side. With the Blade behind its back, its left hand seized Hawkins's left shoulder, and with a forceful wrench…

*Snap!* Hawkins's left arm was utterly crippled!

At that moment, only one thought echoed in his mind: "It actually tore open the Beast Emperor's Unyielding Wall, passed down by my ancestors, and then so easily shattered the Beast Emperor's Unyielding Body. What kind of sacred artifact is this?!"

While Deboning crippled Hawkins, Du Chen also returned to his normal state. When he burrowed through the wall, he used The Sixth, not the Lotus Pedestal Helen had seen. For a moment, neither side recognized the other.

Showing no mercy, Du Chen simultaneously curled his thumbs against his other four fingers, then swiftly reversed his hands, flicking them out one after another across his chest. Like lotus leaves unfurling, ribbons of water interwoven with fire dragons enveloped both Helen and Sulan!

This was precisely the move that had left Brockman in tears of frustration. However, Du Chen was no artist, and the name of this 'water brush' technique, strengthened by him, had no artistic flair whatsoever: 'Thousand Strands of Benevolent Lock!'

Upon seeing this move, Sulan was taken aback. "Water and Fire elements!? But the battle qi intensity barely reaches Ninth-rank. What kind of opponent is this?!" Relying on her formidable body, she shielded Helen, transmitting through her Battle Soul: "Miss, shrink your body, I'll block the water and fire!"

After all, Sulan was a Ninth-rank Aberrant Beast. She blocked with both hands, easily scattering the ribbons of water and fire dragons heading for Helen, and, enduring several hits herself, she firmly held her ground.

Du Chen sneered coldly, drawing circles with his hands in front of his chest. A round mirror appeared, and the unscattered ribbons of water and fire light, reflected by the mirror, instantly multiplied by an unknown number of times! They then collectively turned back and slammed into Sulan! This time, the sheer volume was overwhelming; almost every inch of Sulan's body was struck, and even with all her might, she still missed a few streaks of fire light that hit Helen!

"Hmph!" Helen grunted, clearly injured!

"Damn it, I'll fight you to the death!" Sulan roared in fury, but just then…

Invisible walls seemed to materialize on all sides, locking her firmly in place, unable to move a muscle – the Invisible Shield had been set in ambush long ago!

*Buzz, buzz!* Spinning lotus saws whirred around his fingertips. Du Chen's mood was excellent. "With the Fourth Trigram mostly open, he was indeed guaranteed victory when fighting an initial Ninth-rank Battle God!"

With a flick of his finger, a lotus saw flew towards the bound Sulan, and the Fire Lotus Lantern, hidden in the firelight beneath Sulan's feet, also burst into sparks!

Almost simultaneously, Du Chen and Deboning had achieved victory on both fronts. The next step should have been Deboning dealing with the Crimson Mausoleum Guards, and Du Chen using the Precious Lotus Scripture to capture all the prisoners, then interrogating them at leisure! But just as Du Chen intended to utterly defeat his opponents, and Deboning was already clashing with several Crimson Mausoleum Guards…

From beneath the ground, an angry roar erupted, and a figure burst forth. His eyes swept over the scene in the Death Row Cells. He extended his hands in mid-air, grasping, and Du Chen, for a moment, couldn't control the Invisible Shield, allowing Sulan and Helen, ensnared within the shield, to be snatched away!

"How dare you harm my daughter?! You seek death!"

Ted had finally arrived! He dragged Sulan with one hand and slammed his other fist into the air, "Boom!" shattering the shield. He saved his daughter and Sulan, told Sulan to look after Helen, and then lunged at Du Chen!

After years apart, Ted's strength had fully recovered. He was no longer the sickly, desperate man Du Chen remembered, waiting for rescue!

"Damn it?! This guy actually has Tenth-rank strength?!" Du Chen didn't dare to clash head-on, mentally cursing. He used the instant explosive power of the Fire Lotus Lantern to evade, then immediately turned to Deboning for help. However, at this moment, Hawkins was crippled, and the four Eighth-rank Crimson Mausoleum Guards, unleashing a Combined Assault Formation, were crazily entangled with Deboning…

"I don't believe it! Can't I even withstand three or four moves?!" Du Chen gritted his teeth, turning to fight back!

Ted sneered in disdain. "Such a mere child, I'll extinguish you in three moves!"

Chaos! The Death Row Cells descended into even greater pandemonium!

But the chaos seemed insufficient! Ted repelled Du Chen with two blows, and as he was about to unleash his third, a cold glint suddenly flashed overhead, followed by a resonant laugh. "Wait a moment. I've been watching for quite some time, and it seems you two shouldn't be opponents!"

With a light flick of his left hand, a column of energy easily pushed Du Chen aside, effectively resolving his predicament. With his other hand, he clenched a fist and clashed directly with Ted, forcing Ted back a step – though he himself also retreated one step!

The newcomer was cloaked and masked in black, his face obscured. His build was merely that of an ordinary man of average height, with nothing outwardly remarkable about him. He sighed inwardly, "Alas, I truly am old. My arms and legs are no longer as useful. If this were years ago, I would never have been forced back that step!"

At once, four factions converged around the Death Row Cells cage. Everyone had changed their appearance: Du Chen was using a new Secret Technique, Deboning was an even newer sacred artifact, and Old Foye had been recuperating in the Southern Sea for years, not having seen Du Chen in ages…

Aside from Du Chen, who clearly knew the identities of the four Crimson Mausoleum Guards, no one recognized anyone else!

Deboning was entangled with the Crimson Mausoleum Guards, while the others formed a three-way standoff. Ted eyed Old Foye coldly. "You, sir, are no unknown individual!" He then glared angrily at Du Chen. "What did you mean by that remark just now?"

Old Foye chuckled. "When I arrived, those two girls were embroiled in combat with someone. Initially, I thought they were also here to capture Steve and planned to wait for them to tire out and then reap the benefits! But who would have thought, this kid arrived again!" He pointed at Du Chen.
