Chapter 78

A Call with My Brother

The pervasive scent of blood in the hotel filled Tiger Fang Squad Captain Pan Ya with anxiety. "Hu Zi and the others might have been killed by monsters. But it's more likely a Warrior played dirty! And what ordinary Warrior would dare offend Young Master Li Wei? It must be someone with a grudge against my Tiger Fang Squad!"

He was well aware of the young master's identity; though a mixed-blood, his father was Huaxia.

Regardless of his father's personal strength or background, few dared to provoke Young Master Li Wei.

"No need," Old Man Liu waved dismissively. "With Kalong and me here, the young master's safety is absolutely guaranteed."

The burly white man also glanced at the Tiger Fang Squad members, a cold smile playing on his lips.

"Young Master Li," Pan Ya couldn't help but look at the mixed-blood youth.

"My training regimen isn't finished yet," the mixed-blood youth frowned.

Senior Liu slightly furrowed his brow. "As a Warrior, one constantly walks the line between life and death. How can you be so hesitant over a few uncertainties? What achievements can you hope for in the future?"

Pan Ya and the other four remained silent.

"Worst case, you four can just stick with us. How about that?" As Senior Liu spoke, Pan Ya and the other four Tiger Fang Squad members exchanged glances, abandoning their thoughts of returning to the Base City. They knew well that being with two Advanced Warlords offered genuine safety.

"Senior Liu is right. Fearing wolves and tigers, are we still Warriors? If anyone dares to ambush us, once discovered, they'll be killed on sight." A cold glint flashed in Pan Ya's eyes.

"We'll follow Senior Liu's lead," the one-eyed middle-aged man said with a smile.

All the Tiger Fang Squad members agreed to follow Senior Liu's instructions.

"This place reeks of blood. Let's find somewhere else," Senior Liu declared.

Immediately, the seven members of the Thunder Squad departed the Jinjiang Chain Hotel.

...

From his previous hiding spot, Luo Feng silently observed through binoculars.

"They really left the Jinjiang Chain Hotel." Within Luo Feng's line of sight, the seven members of the Thunder Squad walked along the street for a while after leaving the hotel, then vanished from his view.

"Damn it, this villa is too low; the viewing range is limited."

Luo Feng quickly slung on his backpack, shield, and battle saber, then darted out of the villa like a leopard, sprinting directly into a high-rise residential building across the street. The building was 18 stories tall. His shield, battle saber, and other gear were buoyed by his mental force, allowing Luo Feng astonishing speed.

A blur constantly flickered up the stairs.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

In mere seconds, he shot from the first floor to the eighteenth! Inside an apartment on the eighteenth floor, Luo Feng stood by the north window, binoculars in hand, surveying the scene below. From this height, the view was much clearer. He quickly spotted the seven members of the Thunder Squad walking along the street's edge. They advanced slowly for a long time before finally entering a dilapidated six-story residential building.

"I wonder if my arrangements will work," Luo Feng squinted. "Whether they do or not, I'll have to leave it to fate."

"Continue waiting for an opportunity!"

Luo Feng resumed his days of staking out.

As a Warrior, one first needs sufficient patience and perseverance! Without them, how could one possess such astonishing strength? Naturally, Luo Feng's solitary, silent stakeout was well within his tolerance.

On the first day, the Thunder Squad went out hunting again in the afternoon, all seven members departing together.

On the second day, the Thunder Squad went out once in the morning and once in the afternoon for their mixed-blood young master's training. Again, all seven departed together, leaving Luo Feng no opportunity.

On the third day, they still went out once in the morning and once in the afternoon, and still all seven departed together.

"It seems the Tiger Fang Squad is truly suspicious," Luo Feng thought, sitting on the slightly tidied bed in the bedroom, silently gazing out the window. Night had fallen, stars blanketed the sky, their light filtering into the room. A faint scent of blood still lingered in the air.

"What should I do?" Luo Feng frowned.

It looked like if this continued, the mixed-blood young master might return to the Base City as soon as his training regimen concluded.

"Buzz~~

Luo Feng felt a slight vibration from the communication watch on his wrist. He looked down; it was a call from his brother.

"Call back," Luo Feng issued a voice command.

"Beep—beep—beep—Hello, Brother!" His brother Luo Hua's voice came through the watch.

"Luo Hua, what made you call me?" Luo Feng smiled, feeling genuinely happy. Hunting others alone in the Wilderness Zone was a solitary existence. Being able to chat with family warmed his entire heart.

"Just missing you, Brother," Luo Hua sounded relaxed and cheerful. "Brother, I made another killing in the stock market recently, a huge profit, it's awesome!"

"Oh? How did you do it?" Luo Feng asked with a smile.

Luo Hua was brimming with excitement. "Of the eight stocks I've been trading, six are blue-chip stocks, and the other two are purely short-term manipulated stocks. The blue-chip stocks are inherently high-quality, with excellent annual net profit margins. One of those six blue-chip stocks started plummeting! It scared the hell out of me; I thought something was wrong with the company. I checked thoroughly, but found no issues! Damn it, if it were a short-term manipulated stock, I would've cut my losses immediately with such a drop."

"But I had a lot of confidence in this blue-chip stock, preferring to hold it long-term. And since there were no issues with the company, what was there to fear?"

"It drops, I buy!"

"I kept averaging down in stages. Blast it, it fell for about ten days, dropping nearly 50%. I poured almost 80% of all my capital into buying more. Unexpectedly, it started surging in the last ten-odd days. In less than twenty days, it not only recovered its original price but even slightly surpassed it! Damn, just this one trade. My operating capital doubled. Haha, it's awesome!"

Luo Feng could feel his brother's excitement through the watch's audio.

"That's incredible, much better than your brother," Luo Feng praised with a smile. "Don't you have over a hundred million in capital now?"

He had given his brother another fifty million last time, so his brother's total capital should have been just over eighty million.

"Yeah, my trading capital is around 170 million now," Luo Hua chuckled. "Brother, it's mainly because you gave me a large sum of money. If I didn't have enough principal, how could I have earned so much?"

Doubling the money.

If the principal was only ten thousand, it would just become twenty thousand.

But with eighty or ninety million, it became 170 or 180 million. This is why everyone says the first million is the hardest to earn, and the second million comes easier.

"You're still impressive. Your brother here has been killing in the Wilderness Zone for two months and earned less than a hundred million," Luo Feng said, sighing inwardly. No wonder those in finance make so much money; it's like money making money. The larger the principal, the more exaggerated the profits! Of course, the losses can be just as exaggerated.

"But Brother, opportunities like this don't come around often," his brother chuckled.

His brother had been trading stocks for several years, and making such a huge profit in such a short time was indeed rare.

"Mm."

As Luo Feng thought, he began operating his communication watch, using the touchscreen to access his bank account and transfer 180 million to his brother's account.

"Ah!" Luo Hua exclaimed, "Brother, my account has an extra..."

"Your brother here made a huge profit recently. This is for your stock trading. Go ahead and trade hard. If one day your trading capital reaches fifteen billion! Your brother will give you a big surprise!" Luo Feng said with a smile. Luo Feng had never told his brother about the 'Water of Life'.

After all, that item was too expensive. But according to Luo Feng's plan—he earns money, his brother earns money from stocks...

...and then he transfers some of his own money for his brother to trade. With this continuous cycle of money making money, perhaps reaching thirty billion wouldn't be impossible!

"Fifteen billion?" Luo Hua gasped.

"Don't worry, I'll lend you a good amount of principal too," Luo Feng chuckled. By then, his brother's money combined with his own would probably total thirty billion.

With that much money, he could then find a way to buy the 'Water of Life' and help his brother stand again!

"Okay, Brother, I'll definitely work hard," Luo Hua said, full of vigor.

"Mm," Luo Feng responded with a smile. "Alright, you should get some rest too."

"Okay, Brother, you be careful in the Wilderness Zone too."

The brothers quickly hung up.

...

At Luo Feng's home in Mingyue Residential District, in his brother's room on the first floor, Luo Hua, seated in his wheelchair, excitedly closed his phone. He then opened his computer for an online chat.

"Hua Zi, you look very happy," the girl on the video call said with a smile.

"Hehe, of course I'm happy." Luo Hua chatted excitedly with the girl in the video. She had a slight baby face, ear-length hair, and appeared very delicate and clean. This was Luo Hua's girlfriend, Xiao Nan.

...

Xiao Nan's university was local, so even while attending, she slept at home.

Xiao Nan was in her bedroom, video chatting with Luo Hua on her computer.

Outside her bedroom, in the living room.

A middle-aged couple sat on the living room sofa. Though watching TV, their attention was clearly elsewhere.

"What should we do?" the middle-aged woman said anxiously. "You know Xiao Nan's temper. If we forcefully break them up, Xiao Nan will definitely hate us."

"Let her hate us then, we're doing this for her own good!"

The middle-aged man couldn't help but rage, "She's never suffered a day in her life, does she think she's living in a fairy tale? While we're not super-rich, we live comfortably, and our daughter is pretty and has good character. Why should she be with a cripple? That cripple's brother is a Warrior! So what if he's a Warrior? It's not like her brother is dating our daughter."

"No matter what, I can't just watch our daughter jump into a pit of fire!"

"If Lao Li hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known our daughter was secretly dating that cripple from Mingyue Residential District. It infuriates me, absolutely infuriates me!" The middle-aged man's face was ashen.
