Chapter 638
Poised for Action
Days passed, one after another.
The space outside Red Morning Star was tranquil. Suddenly, ripples spread through the starry sky, and a blood-red triangular spaceship appeared out of thin air.
"Your Highness, that's Red Morning Star ahead." In the control room, Dilun pointed forward.
Luo Feng stood there. Behind him were five Sector Lord guards.
"Hmm." Luo Feng nodded with a smile. "Let's go, to meet the undying powerhouses of the Golden Horn Clan."
Whoosh! The Yunmo Star quickly plunged into Red Morning Star's atmosphere, activating its stealth system. Without triggering Red Morning Star's planetary alert system or drawing the slightest notice from the planet's inhabitants, the Yunmo Star landed at the Virtual Universe Company's outpost on the planet.
Inside the vast manor, nine members of the Golden Horn Clan stood, gazing at the blood-red triangular spaceship.
"This is... an F-grade spaceship!" The armored youth's eyes gleamed, his excitement causing his green skin to faintly shimmer with silver light. "And it must be made of Red-Mixed Copper Mother material. A spaceship entirely made of Red-Mixed Copper Mother... how many resources must that cost? This Luo Feng is truly wealthy!"
"Indeed!" The seven Marquis-level Undying Beings from the Tawen Department of the Golden Horn Clan also had longing in their eyes.
Only the golden-armored elder watched all this with a smile. At this moment, the elder was not wearing a helmet.
"Work hard. Once you possess King-level strength, the clan will also help you acquire an F-grade spaceship." The elder said, looking at the seven Marquis-level Undying Beings beside him.
As an affiliated race, the Golden Horn Clan naturally received far fewer resources than humans.
Among humans, almost every Marquis-level Undying Being could own an F-grade spaceship. As for King-level... a few million mixed-element units were just pocket change to them.
But the Golden Horn Clan was different. Within the Golden Horn Clan, only those with King-level Undying Being strength could each possess an F-grade spaceship. As for Marquis-level Undying Beings? Only a very, very select few had that honor.
Whoosh! The hatch opened. Under the gaze of the nine Golden Horn Clan members, the black-haired youth in silver Combat Armor, accompanied by a black-robed Undying Being guard and five Sector Lord guards, flew out from the hatch. Immediately after, the massive Yunmo Star vanished into thin air.
"Elder Sifanqi of the Tawen Department of the Golden Horn Clan, with his team, welcomes His Highness Luo Feng, the human envoy." The golden-armored elder nodded slightly towards Luo Feng, and the golden mark on his brow simultaneously flashed with light. The other eight individuals beside him all bowed, their golden brow marks also flickering brightly.
"Elder Sifanqi, there's no need for such formality." Luo Feng walked over with a smile, his gaze sweeping over the other eight present. He frowned slightly. "Elder, why is there one extra person?"
"Your Highness Luo Feng." The golden-armored elder smiled, pointing to the burly armored youth. "This is Kashina, the only son of my Tawen Department's leader. He has lived for over a hundred thousand years but has never left his home world. This time, he's accompanying our squad to see the universe and gain more experience. I hope Your Highness will forgive his presence."
Luo Feng nodded with a smile, looking at the armored youth. "Kashina, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Excitement immediately flared in the armored youth's eyes, and silver light shimmered on his green skin. He quickly said, "Your Highness Luo Feng, I'm also very excited and happy to meet you. Thank you, thank you."
Luo Feng clearly noticed that the armored youth's speech seemed a bit foolish.
It wasn't surprising. Among the myriad life forms in the universe, flesh-and-blood creatures were the strongest. This was precisely because flesh-and-blood creatures almost all possessed extremely high intelligence. Plant-based life forms, even Sector Lord-level ones, probably couldn't match the thinking speed of an ordinary human.
For a race like the Golden Horn Clan, being rock-based life forms, their minds weren't inherently as sharp. Of course, their Domain Lord and Sector Lord level intelligence was in no way inferior to ordinary individuals. It was just that when they learned and spoke the universal human language, it was no surprise they sounded a bit foolish.
"Your Highness Luo Feng, let's go inside and discuss the details of this mission," the golden-armored elder said.
"Hmm." Luo Feng nodded, walking side-by-side with the golden-armored elder towards the living room, while Dilun walked alongside the other seven Marquis-level Undying Beings.
...Inside the living room. Luo Feng and the large group sat down in turn. Looking at the Golden Horn Clan members before him, their appearance was quite similar to humans, but upon closer inspection, one could still discern the differences... for instance, their voices sounded like steel clashing.
"According to the mission assigned to us by the Virtual Universe Company, this time we are to deal with two Undying Beings: one Marquis-level named Yao Hai, and one ordinary High-tier Army Lord named Jiefurisi." The golden-armored elder smiled. "We've already discussed it internally. I will take three Marquis-level clan members to deal with the Marquis-level target, Yao Hai. The other four Marquis-level clan members will team up to handle the High-tier Undying Army Lord Jiefurisi. We absolutely won't let them escape; we will surely succeed in killing them!"
Luo Feng nodded with a smile. The Virtual Universe Company's arrangement was indeed quite good, especially since there was a King-level Undying Being in the team.
There was no other way, really. Defeating an Undying Being was easy, but 'killing' one was very troublesome. Most of the time, the best one could do was 'seal an Undying Being' or force them into slumber. But truly killing an Undying Being... was tens, even hundreds of times harder than merely defeating them! This was why such a powerful squad had been dispatched.
"I have no objections to Elder Sifanqi's arrangements." Luo Feng smiled, looking at the nine-member Golden Horn Clan squad before him. "If the two Undying Being targets are in separate locations, then proceed as planned. But if not, we'll need to be flexible."
"Understood." The golden-armored elder nodded.
"There's one thing I need to make clear." Luo Feng looked at the nine individuals. "During the mission, I require all nine of you to fully obey my commands and not act on your own initiative."
"We understand that point; the mission is paramount." The golden-armored elder nodded.
"Excellent!" Luo Feng nodded. "Then, let's depart now."
"Depart now?" The armored youth's eyes widened.
This immediately drew glances from the golden-armored elder and the other seven Marquis-level clan members, scaring the youth into an embarrassed chuckle.
"In my opinion, it would be best for your clan member, Kashina, to stay by my side," Luo Feng said with a smile. "I don't want any mishaps to occur."
"I want to follow my teacher!" the armored youth quickly said.
"No problem, Your Highness Luo Feng," the golden-armored elder replied, simultaneously giving the armored youth a cold glance, which made the youth obediently lower his head and comply.
Immediately, Luo Feng and his group boarded two separate spaceships, departing Red Morning Star and heading towards the Imperial Capital Star of the Dreamy Abyss Empire.
...The Yunmo Star spaceship and the Tawen Department's Golden Horn Clan spaceship advanced simultaneously.
Meanwhile, a wisp of Luo Feng's consciousness entered the Virtual Universe Network, arriving at his manor in the Yuxiang Mountain Primitive Region.
"I need precise intelligence: the exact locations of the targets, Yao Hai and Jiefurisi." Luo Feng sat at his desk, his face grim as he stared at the laptop screen, which displayed a breathtakingly beautiful green-haired woman.
"Your Highness Luo Feng, Jiefurisi is currently on the Imperial Capital Star, but Yao Hai... has not appeared. We suspect he is in his God Kingdom," the green-haired woman respectfully reported.
"Nonsense!" Luo Feng retorted coldly. "If he's in his God Kingdom, how can we kill him? We can't find his God Kingdom, and he can travel to incredibly distant regions through it at any time. I'm not asking for reasons; I only need results! I want you to give me a precise planetary address, and you must guarantee that Yao Hai is on that planet."
Cold sweat beaded on the green-haired woman's forehead.
"I know your intelligence system is vast and shoulders many responsibilities, likely handling many tasks simultaneously. However, the importance of my mission is not low, and there are still no results." Luo Feng snapped. "I can only report your incompetence to headquarters and handle this myself. Three days, you have three days left. After three days, you must give me a precise answer."
"Yes, Your Highness!" The green-haired woman replied respectfully, not even daring to raise her head.
The communication then closed. Luo Feng sat at his desk, his nostrils flaring with anger.
"Don't be angry, this is quite normal. The Virtual Universe Company is an immense power, and its intelligence system is equally vast and bloated. It likely handles matters for 1008 Cosmic Nations simultaneously, probably expending effort on intelligence gathering, assassinations, and espionage activities for other races. Your matter is probably ranked very low in importance, so they won't expend too much effort on it," Babata grumbled.
"I know," Luo Feng said indifferently.
The mission deadline was one year. The Virtual Universe Company's intelligence department naturally knew the deadline, so they weren't in a hurry at first. The addresses and detailed information for 120 million people could be easily obtained, but an Undying Being potentially hidden in their God Kingdom was beyond the intelligence system's easy reach, so they were naturally reluctant to expend more effort.
As long as they provided the accurate address within the mission deadline, it wouldn't be considered dereliction of duty. As for whether Luo Feng could complete the mission, they couldn't care less.
"If the Virtual Universe Company's intelligence system can't find Yao Hai, then why not just lure him out?" Luo Feng sneered. "Just organize a gathering of powerful Undying Beings, send out widespread invitations, and include Yao Hai! Wouldn't Yao Hai then show up? There are plenty of methods! They just don't want to expend too much effort."
...Three days later. Luo Feng's Yunmo Star spaceship, the Golden Horn Clan's Tawen Department spaceship, and even a formidable fleet of 30 massive starships from the Ninth Legion, were all docked on a mineral planet approximately 1200 light-years from the Dreamy Abyss Empire's Imperial Capital Star. As soon as the time was right, they could swiftly travel through space, taking less than an hour to reach the Imperial Capital Star directly!
The Ninth Legion's 30 starships represented 30 armies. This force included one Marquis-level Undying Being, 30 Undying Army Lords, 3,000 Sector Lords, 30,000 Domain Lords, and 300,000 Universe-level warriors.
The reason for deploying such a large force was that out of the 120 million targets, nearly 30 million were on the Imperial Capital Star, and many of them were important figures.
"The intelligence department still hasn't given me Yao Hai's exact location," Luo Feng said, standing in the Yunmo Star's control room, gazing at the desolation of the mineral planet outside, a hint of anger in his eyes.
"Luo Feng, a Virtual Universe Network call request, it's from the intelligence department," Babata's voice echoed in Luo Feng's mind.
