Chapter 512

Destiny

“The malevolent aura of the Ancient God Ruins—they say being exposed to it helps in fusing the Xueluo Crystal.”

“They also say that slaughter aids in fusing the Xueluo Crystal.”

“And they claim that fusing the Xueluo Crystal places stringent demands on the body!”

Luo Feng nodded slightly, a complete understanding dawning on him. “It’s clear now. Both frenzied slaughter and exposure to the malevolent aura in the Ancient God Ruins cause specific changes to the body. They enhance certain physical capabilities, making one capable of enduring the Xueluo Crystal’s fusion!”

Slaughter?

His Earthling true body, while having committed considerable slaughter compared to ordinary people, hadn't truly engaged in much. The number of kills by his Earthling true body was indeed quite limited. He had, however, engaged in plenty of slaughter within the ‘Virtual Universe Network,’ but that kind of killing was purely virtual and wouldn't bring about physical changes.

“Haha…”

“I went to the Ancient God Ruins intending to become a Blood Warrior, or even a Black Warrior. That’s why I went. But I didn’t expect to fail in fusing this second Xueluo Crystal.” Luo Feng shook his head with a sigh, then immediately closed his eyes, connecting his consciousness to the Virtual Universe Network and entering the Taichu District to begin serious cultivation.

On the street.

“My luck is terrible, I lost again.” Yu Chunyang muttered to himself as he walked down the street.

“Brother, brother.” A voice called out.

“Hmm?” Yu Chunyang turned to see a young man in combat armor running up behind him, his face alight with excitement. He couldn’t help but chuckle, “Ah Xiang, why are you so happy? Did you find our young master Nake?”

“No! The master is searching everywhere for the young master, but he just vanished, no one knows where he went.” The young man in combat armor, Yu Xiang, shook his head. “Yangang City is so vast and chaotic. With the young master’s naive temperament, it’s hard to say when he might offend someone and get himself killed.”

“Damn it, you dare curse the young master to be killed?” Yu Chunyang glared.

Yu Xiang’s eyes darted around. He quickly pulled Yu Chunyang aside and simultaneously transmitted his thoughts via primal energy: “Brother, have you seen the bounty posted outside?”

“What bounty? I just came from the gambling house, how would I have seen any bounty?” Yu Chunyang shook his head.

“Come with me.” Yu Xiang immediately pulled his brother along.

“Where are we going?”

“Just follow me.”

The two brothers soon arrived at a spot on the street where a bounty was posted. The allure of the reward was immense; even now, a large crowd still craned their necks to look, many whispering and dreaming of the immense reward they’d receive for finding the culprit and reporting them.

“A million treasure coins? A hundred million treasure coins?” Yu Chunyang’s eyes widened.

“Look closely at the bounty details, the culprit’s image, and the combat armor and weapons they used,” Yu Xiang transmitted.

Yu Chunyang took a look, his eyes instantly round. He turned to his brother and transmitted, “Ah Xiang, this, this… isn’t this the same shield and combat saber used by that super expert we met when we accompanied the young master to the wilderness forest? And he instantly killed the Thirteen Axes before they even had a chance to retaliate. Three of the Thirteen Axes were Cloud-level! That expert… he must be a Domain-level!”

“Exactly.” Yu Xiang nodded slightly, transmitting, “It’s rare for a Domain-level super expert to come to our Yangang City. The shield and weapons are identical—how could it be such a coincidence? This Lord Feng is truly ruthless. He even killed the Divine Temple envoy with a single strike. Too brutal.”

“Us?” Yu Chunyang’s eyes gleamed.

“Are we going or not?” Yu Xiang looked at his brother.

“This…” Yu Chunyang hesitated.

“If you don’t go, I will,” Yu Xiang transmitted. “Don’t regret it later. The master treats us well enough, but aren’t we in the Na family for money?”

Yu Chunyang gritted his teeth: “Alright, let’s go!”

And so, the two quickly rushed towards the City Lord’s Mansion.

City Lord’s Mansion.

Siyong sat upon his palace throne, looking down at the three figures respectfully standing below.

“Have you found anything?” Siyong’s voice was deep, filled with an invisible pressure. “Posting the bounty certainly helped. However, of the three people you mentioned earlier, two were ultimately identified as fakes, and one… is currently unconfirmed. Are you confident in what you’re saying now?”

“Reporting, World Lord!” One of the army generals exclaimed, his eyes full of joy. “This time, we’re more confident than before! We’ve received tips from three different people… and they all point to the same individual.”

“Hmm?” In the grand hall, Siyong raised his head slightly.

“His name is Feng! According to the three informants… this Feng, not long ago, encountered the guard squad of Young Master Nake of the Na family from Yangang City in a wilderness beast forest outside the city. During their journey, they were attacked by the Thirteen Axes. That mysterious expert, ‘Feng,’ instantly drew his saber, simultaneously manifesting 13 figures. With 13 strikes, he killed all of the Thirteen Axes, who didn’t even have time to retaliate!”

“The Thirteen Axes? What organization is that?” Siyong frowned slightly.

“Reporting, World Lord, this is a rather well-known organization within our Yangang territory. The Thirteen Axes refers to thirteen experts, three of whom are Cloud-level, and ten are Sky-level peak.” The general respectfully added, “And the deaths of the Thirteen Axes have been fully confirmed by us. They were indeed killed by that individual.”

“Oh?” Siyong suddenly stood up.

This news was quite impactful!

Instantly manifesting 13 illusory figures, killing 13 people, three of whom were Cloud-level…

“Spatial origin law?” Siyong’s eyes lit up, confirming his suspicion inwardly. “Yes, the black-armored warrior in the video sent by Envoy Mo was proficient in spatial laws, with astonishing speed.”

“And the weapons?” Siyong pressed.

“A shield and a combat saber, identical in style to those in the drawing,” the general stated seriously.

“Excellent!” Siyong’s eyes gleamed. “Go, find out everything about this ‘Feng’!”

“Yes, sir!”

Nabu, who had chosen to remain in Yangang City, unwilling to abandon his family’s legacy, had his memory of that night erased. So, when he discovered his son had vanished, he was frantic, mobilizing all his resources in a desperate, frenzied search. He hadn’t even bothered to look at the bounty when it was first posted.

When he finally saw it, he was startled.

He also suspected… that the culprit might very well be Lord Feng! So he immediately wanted to bring the original guard squad under control.

However, apart from four individuals he managed to secure, the others were nowhere to be found.

“Take them away!”

“Take them all.”

“Go quickly and search! Here’s the list of the original guard squad members; find the others. And… quickly find Young Master Nake of the Na family as well.”

A group of army soldiers stormed into the Na family residence, directly apprehending Nabu and also taking Uncle Lei into custody.

A bewitching woman in a purple uniform stood outside the interrogation room. *Clang*, the interrogation room door opened, and an army general emerged.

“Greetings, my lady.” The general jumped in surprise upon seeing the woman, immediately bowing respectfully. This bewitching woman before him… was one of World Lord Siyong’s four chief subordinates, a Domain-level expert.

“Have you interrogated the Na family head and extracted precise information about Feng?” the bewitching woman asked.

“No, he claims he doesn’t know,” the general shook his head. “I interrogated him thoroughly and found… that the Na family head likely only met that Feng by chance; their acquaintance isn’t deep.”

“Useless!” the bewitching woman snapped.

The general’s face flushed, wanting to speak but daring not.

“Get out, and take all your men with you. Leave this to me,” the bewitching woman said.

“Yes, my lady!”

The general immediately led all the soldiers out of the interrogation room, leaving only the two prisoners, Nabu and Uncle Lei.

Inside the interrogation room.

Nabu and Uncle Lei both looked pale, their bodies covered in injuries, having endured severe physical torment.

“Master, when we met Lord Feng, we thought it was a great stroke of luck, but who knew it would come to this. Truly, truly…” Uncle Lei shook his head with a sigh. Nabu beside him sighed softly, “Lei Dong, this time my Na family has implicated you.”

“Master—” Uncle Lei was about to speak.

The purple-clad woman walked in from outside the interrogation room. Her mere bewitching gait caused Uncle Lei and Nabu to lose control, their gazes fixed on her. Gradually, their eyes became hazy and unfocused.

“Those idiots, using torture instruments for interrogation, truly idiotic,” the purple-clad woman’s face darkened. She then began to question, “First, tell me the entire process of your encounter with that Feng, from beginning to end. Also, tell me all your conjectures…”

Uncle Lei recounted it once.

Nabu recounted it again.

Under the control of the soul secret technique, both Uncle Lei and Nabu conjectured… that the culprit was very likely ‘Feng’.

This interrogation made the purple-clad woman’s expression turn grim.

A biting cold wind swept through. Siyong, with his long blue hair, stood in the corridor.

“Master.” The purple-clad woman walked over and bowed respectfully.

“Judging by your footsteps, the interrogation results don’t seem to be good,” Siyong said, gazing into the distance, his back to the purple-clad woman.

The purple-clad woman lowered her head. “Yes, I used a soul-type secret technique and confirmed that the two did not lie. Their Na family indeed only had an ordinary acquaintance with that ‘Feng.’ However, that ‘Feng’ seemed to have a good impression of the Na family’s young master, Nake.”

“Nake? Where is he?” Siyong asked indifferently.

“Nake vanished,” the purple-clad woman whispered. “And he disappeared on the very night the Divine Temple envoys died. We can’t find any information about this ‘Feng.’ At the same time, Nake also suddenly went missing… even his father had no idea, which is why he’s been frantically searching for his son, not even noticing the bounty, allowing those few guards to report.”

“Nake’s disappearance is too coincidental; I’m certain it’s connected to the culprit!”

“There are now two possibilities.”

“One, Nake knew some detailed information about ‘Feng,’ and the culprit, fearing exposure, silenced him.”

“Two, Feng knew that killing the Divine Temple envoys would cause trouble and lead to the Na family. Because he had a good impression of Nake, he took Nake away,” the purple-clad woman respectfully stated.

“Where is Feng?” Siyong’s voice held a trace of anger. “I don’t want to know anything else right now. I just want to know… where is this culprit? I want to capture him!”

“I don’t know, we can’t find any information,” the purple-clad woman shook her head.

*Boom!*

Siyong angrily swung his fist, smashing it into a nearby corridor pillar. Instantly, a violent force erupted, and a terrifying shockwave burst forth from the impact point, fanning out and instantly pulverizing a large number of adjacent buildings. Many servants, soldiers, and guards were instantly shredded into a bloody pulp, while some lucky ones merely suffered broken limbs.

In an instant, several kilometers of the City Lord’s Mansion were reduced to ruins, filled with screams and rumbling sounds.

“Bastard!!!” Siyong spun around abruptly, his expression ferocious, his violent aura making heaven and earth tremble.

“Master, how should we deal with the Na family?” the purple-clad woman respectfully asked.
