Chapter 419

Turbulent Undercurrents

While the internal selection for the Ganwu Universe Nation had just concluded, in another human Cosmic Nation, the Barbaric Universe Nation, located extremely far from the Ganwu Universe Nation, its internal selection was still underway.

The Barbaric Universe Nation was named as such because it harbored two incredibly formidable human races: the Manka Star people and the Desolate God Race. Both of these races ranked among the top ten human bloodlines in the cosmos. Even without cultivation, their adults could easily become powerful Domain Lords. For a racial bloodline to evolve to such an extent, the ancestors of the Manka Star people and the Desolate God Race must have produced numerous Immortals!

The populations of these two great races were extremely small, yet they formed the core of the entire Barbaric Universe Nation, truly the supreme royal families! Once, a Sector Lord abducted a Manka Star person infant. Upon discovery, Manka Star dispatched a group of Immortal beings who annihilated the entire organization to which the Sector Lord belonged, even killing two Immortals within it.

As for the Sector Lord who dared to abduct the infant, he was tortured for millions of years until his lifespan ended, dying a sorrowful death.

“Dare to harm a Manka Star person infant, and you die!”

“Dare to harm a Desolate God Race infant, and you will be slain! Slain! Slain!”

For the Manka Star people and the Desolate God Race, dying in battle was an honor! But anyone who dared to abduct their infants and exploit their bloodline would incur the wrath of an entire race!

...

Manka Star, the homeland of the Manka Star people, had been entirely relocated into a vast God Kingdom.

Within Manka Star, in an oval-shaped castle, the guards at the entrance were all Universe-level warriors.

“Congratulations, Your Highness! Our warmest felicitations, Your Highness!”

Two Sector Lords smiled as they watched a young man casually seated at a dining table, eating heartily. This was a Manka Star person youth, possessing the traditional handsomeness of his race. Dressed in silver combat armor with black hair, he was devouring his food, muttering, “What’s there to congratulate? It’s just a spot, ridiculously easy!”

The two Sector Lords exchanged smiles.

“Your Highness,” the slightly fatter Sector Lord said with a smile, “the internal selection for the Ganwu Universe Nation has concluded.”

“Ganwu Universe Nation?” The Manka Star person youth looked up, frowning. “I’ve heard of it. My royal father said that the Ganwu Nation Lord is very powerful, but I haven’t heard of any remarkable individuals emerging from the Ganwu Universe Nation in the past hundred genius battles.”

“There is one who requires attention this time,” the fat Sector Lord respectfully replied.

“Oh, speak!” The Manka Star person youth lowered his head again, rapidly clearing the food from the table.

The two Sector Lords exchanged smiles. Their Highness possessed the excellent traditions of the Manka Star people: a love for food, a passion for battle, and a rough-and-tumble nature! However, despite their bluntness, Manka Star people had exceptionally high brain capacity, making them very intelligent. This allowed them to ally with the Desolate God Race and govern the Barbaric Universe Nation.

“Your Highness,” the fat Sector Lord continued with a smile, “the peerless genius from the Ganwu Universe Nation is named Rongjun. He has achieved profound understanding in the Earth and Space origin laws, reaching a level where he can leave illusory bodies in space.”

“Illusory bodies?” The Manka Star youth suddenly looked up.

“Yes,” both Sector Lords affirmed simultaneously.

“This is troublesome,” the Manka Star youth slammed the table and stood up. “Being able to leave illusory bodies in space isn’t just about incredible speed. And he also has achievements in the Earth origin law? Combining the two, his attacks must be incredibly fierce and irresistible.”

“Indeed,” the two Sector Lords nodded.

This Manka Star person youth was the most outstanding genius of his generation on Manka Star. He had received guidance from many Immortal beings on Manka Star since childhood. Thus, his discernment was exceptionally high; with just a bit of information, he could simulate an opponent’s general combat style and strength in his mind.

Of course, while he was called the most outstanding genius, there were actually fewer than a thousand Star-level youths on Manka Star in total.

“Your Highness, based on the intelligence we’ve gathered and our assessment, this young man named Rongjun has the potential to contend for a spot in the top ten overall rankings. Furthermore, the intelligence suggests he has been concealing his strength, and he might not have unleashed his full power in his final battle,” the fat Sector Lord continued. “He even declared his goal is to be ranked first overall in the universe!”

“Top ten? First?” The Manka Star youth’s eyes widened. “Why is everyone so arrogant, and yet their strength is quite good? Hmm, there are too many Cosmic Nations. 1008 Cosmic Nations, but I will sweep away all these arrogant fellows! First place… is mine!”

The two Sector Lords chuckled. Their Highness certainly had a strong fighting spirit, but this was, after all, a pinnacle showdown of geniuses from all human races in the universe. There were geniuses from races with superior bloodlines, and while other races might have slightly inferior bloodlines, their massive populations—picking one from tens of billions or even hundreds of billions—usually produced individuals stronger than those selected from a few hundred youths.

“Your Highness, besides Rongjun in the Ganwu Universe Nation, there’s also someone named Luo Feng,” the fat Sector Lord added.

“Another one?” The Manka Star youth’s eyes widened again.

“No,” the fat Sector Lord shook his head. “His strength is far inferior to Rongjun’s. However, it’s worth noting that his progress in strength over the past three years has been immense! We speculate… he has a certain probability of breaking into the top 1000, and he fights with extreme calmness, potentially causing an upset against stronger opponents. So, Your Highness, you should still pay attention to him and not be careless.”

“Uncle Fat,” the Manka Star youth said helplessly, “a chance to break into the top 1000? Don’t even bother telling me about such individuals. There’s no challenge, no threat at all. The top 1000 in the overall universe rankings holds no difficulty for me.”

“However, among the top 1000, from first to one thousandth, the treatment differs. My goal is to ascend to the heavens in one step, directly entering the highest core of the Virtual Universe Company, the Primal Secret Region. So I asked you to focus on those who can contend for the top ten. As for that… what’s his name? Luo Feng? Just ignore him. I’ll finish him in one move.”

The two Sector Lords exchanged glances, only able to smile and say, “Then we await Your Highness’s entry into the Primal Secret Region.”

...

In the vast universe, humanity was one of the pinnacle races, occupying an enormous territory.

At this moment, internal selections for geniuses were still ongoing in many of the 1008 Cosmic Nations, while many others had already concluded. Peerless geniuses who ranked first or second in their respective Cosmic Nations, if they had any capability, were all gathering intelligence on threatening opponents from other Cosmic Nations.

...

In the Ganwu Universe Nation, amidst a vast starry sky.

A giant stood in the starry void, the surrounding space completely distorted, making it impossible to discern his appearance. “I allowed you to cultivate the younger generation in the Ganwu Secret Region, to select hundreds of millions of geniuses across the entire Cosmic Nation, and to nurture them in the best places with the best conditions. Yet, the most outstanding individuals selected by my Cosmic Nation, named Rongjun and Luo Feng, were not cultivated in my Ganwu Secret Region!” The voice boomed, and the surrounding starry sky trembled as if on the verge of shattering.

Three Immortal beings, dressed in simple white robes, bowed deeply, cold sweat beading on their foreheads.

“What use are you, then?”

The deep voice, like a giant axe cleaving their souls, made the three Immortals turn pale and prostrate themselves.

“For talents stronger than those cultivated in the Ganwu Secret Region to emerge also indicates their excellence. Especially Rongjun, who has the strength to rank among the top ten in the universe, which is a good thing. I hope he can enter the Primal Secret Region, which will be of great benefit to my Ganwu Universe Nation in the future.” The anger contained within the deep voice noticeably subsided.

“Cultivating the younger generation has wasted a lot of your time. The three of you should focus on your own cultivation and improve your strength. As for cultivating the younger generation, I will arrange for others.” The deep voice, unimpeded by the starry void, directly entered the ears and souls of the three Immortals.

“Yes, Nation Lord!” The three respectfully responded.

“Begone!” At this, the three Immortal beings finally breathed a sigh of relief and respectfully departed.

...

The one thousand qualified geniuses from the Ganwu Universe Nation had a year and a half of rest, but none of them could truly relax. During this year and a half, whether it was Rongjun, Luo Feng, or the geniuses cultivated by the Ganwu royal family who were overshadowed by Rongjun and Luo Feng, every single one was training desperately!

Rongjun aimed to become the strongest!

Luo Feng was even more unwilling to simply participate in the battle and return home.

As for the geniuses cultivated by the Ganwu royal family, being suppressed by Rongjun and Luo Feng, who had inferior cultivation conditions, naturally fueled their determination!

Everyone was training desperately!

...

“Lost!”

“Luo Feng, you lost again.”

“Still lost.”

“Alright, today’s three battles with Rongjun end here.” In the desert of the Slaughter Space, the little devil Babata waved his hand, and the savage Rongjun standing nearby instantly vanished. This was a simulated Rongjun in the Slaughter Space. His strength, intelligence, and experience were naturally set according to reality.

Luo Feng stood in the desert, frowning. “Still lost.”

“Luo Feng, don’t be discouraged.”

“The main gap between you and Rongjun is in law comprehension. You’ve only comprehended the Gold origin law, though you’ve made significant progress. But Rongjun’s comprehension of the Earth origin law is no less than yours, and his Space origin law is equally profound. The absolute difference in strength is vast. It’s not surprising that you lost,” the little devil Babata said.

Luo Feng nodded slightly. The simulated opponent in the Slaughter Space could be set with very high experience and intelligence. The simulated Rongjun, knowing some of Luo Feng’s ultimate moves, understood his opponent well, leading to a more decisive victory.

“His defense is too strong.”

“The Earth origin law inherently emphasizes defense,” Luo Feng mused. “And his comprehension of Space origin law, when integrated into his domain, gives him even greater control over the surrounding space. His defense makes my control of the three golden illusory swords… ineffective against him.”

He had been very confident. But a single Rongjun had stumped him.

“By the way, Luo Feng, your Demon Killer Clan clone should be born in three more days, right?” the little devil asked.

“Mm!” A hint of anticipation appeared on Luo Feng’s face. The Demon Killer Clan was renowned as the universe’s strongest assassin race, claiming the top spot in assassination among countless human races. Even a single incomplete piece of their skin sold for astronomical prices… the power of the Demon Killer Clan members was evident.
