Confrontation

The red-faced soldier walked towards Luo Feng, grinning as he transmitted, "Yinhe, did you really think we wouldn't recognize you just because you changed your appearance and covered yourself with messy hair? No matter how you transform, your divine power aura will never change. As long as we get a little close to you, we can immediately identify you."

Luo Feng's gaze swept over them. "There shouldn't be just one of you, right?"

"The captain and the others have already arrived, spread out around us," the red-faced soldier transmitted. "We all witnessed your strength on the edge of the True God-level battlefield, easily escaping from several True Gods... I'm not confident enough to hold you back alone."

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

In the chaotic Xuanyu Mountain army in the distance, over a dozen figures approached.

Luo Feng's gaze swept over them; one of the figures was indeed the captain with the huge curved horn! The others were the soldiers under the captain's command.

"New recruit Yinhe, you are stronger than we anticipated."

"Your strength is truly impressive."

"We are willing to accept you as one of us."

One by one, the soldiers transmitted their messages.

Even the captain looked at Luo Feng and transmitted, "New recruit Yinhe!"

"Captain," Luo Feng looked at the captain. When he first joined the Python River Army, this captain hadn't thought much of him, a new recruit. Yet now, the captain wore a friendly smile.

"We didn't accept you before because normal new recruits are very weak, but your strength... has earned our recognition," the captain said directly. "As long as you contribute True God corpses and share them with us, then in our squad, all the other soldiers will be convinced by you, and I am even willing to give up my captain's position... for you to take over!"

"Yes, we are willing to proclaim you as captain."

"As long as you, Yinhe, help us, so we can also survive!"

"Yinhe!"

Each soldier looked at Luo Feng with anticipation, and the captain also looked at Luo Feng with anticipation, seemingly selfless and willing to offer his captaincy.

Luo Feng's gaze swept over them. "Is that truly so?"

"We will immediately proclaim you as captain," the soldiers transmitted one after another.

"Weren't you indifferent to the lives of new recruits before?" Luo Feng grinned. "Why are we talking about comradeship in battle now?"

He had long seen through everything. What captain? What squad camaraderie? They were all jokes. The cruel military selection process caused batches of soldiers to perish. These veteran soldiers were accustomed to seeing others fall, each only wanting to survive and become a True God. Who would care about a nominal captain's position?

This group of soldiers followed the captain because the captain was strong.

If it came down to survival, this group of soldiers would likely abandon their captain immediately.

The faces of the 18 soldiers, including the captain, turned grim. They hadn't expected this new recruit Yinhe to be so oblivious to the situation.

"Yinhe!" the curved-horn captain transmitted angrily. "There are 50 True Gods hunting you down right now. They've also guessed... that you must be somewhere among the large group of Law Masters in Xuanyu Mountain. The Law Master battlefields are divided into many areas, and many of them have True Gods observing from a distance, searching for you. Not far from us, high in the sky, there's a True God observing this very spot."

Luo Feng looked up at the distant sky.

Indeed, a winding, circling alien beast True God was observing this massive battlefield from afar.

"I know," Luo Feng transmitted. "But from such a distance, it can't recognize me."

"But we can tell it," the curved-horn captain transmitted. "We just need to make eye contact with it, and it will immediately notice this. If we move our mouths, it will see our lip movements... and know what we're saying."

"If we die, we'll drag you down with us."

Each soldier stared at Luo Feng.

Luo Feng shook his head. "Then go ahead and die. I'll return to the military camp with thirty-five True God corpses."

With that, he turned directly, roaring, "Kill the bastards from Nine Smoke Marsh!" He transformed into a stream of light and shot into the distance.

The 18 soldiers, including the captain, were all astonished. They hadn't expected this new recruit Yinhe to be utterly fearless even in this situation. Did this new recruit Yinhe truly believe... he could escape the encirclement of the entire Nine Smoke Marsh forces alone?

Though astonished, their reactions were incredibly swift!

As Luo Feng moved, all 18 of them moved simultaneously.

"You want us dead, new recruit? Then you'll die too!"

"Damn you, Yinhe."

"Damn it."

"You forced our hand." Some of the soldiers had ferocious expressions, their eyes filled with madness, as they charged forward.

But Luo Feng, flying at high speed, merely sneered.

Boom! Boom!

The entire second volume of 'Annihilation' was unleashed! His speed increased to an incredibly terrifying degree, quickly shaking off these soldiers.

"You think you can catch me?" Luo Feng didn't care in the slightest.

"Yinhe, don't think you can escape." Among the many soldiers chasing from behind, the curved-horn captain was the fastest. The curved-horn captain had initially thought this new recruit would have reservations... and that he could use this to pressure new recruit Yinhe. But the reality was vastly different from what he expected; this new recruit Yinhe simply fled without a care.

Other soldiers hadn't seen Luo Feng unleash his full power, but the curved-horn captain had, and he knew that if new recruit Yinhe truly went all out... the other soldiers wouldn't be able to stop him.

"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle~~~" A pair of massive black wings quickly emerged from the captain's back, with black ribbons along their edges.

The hundreds of black ribbons from the massive black wings swiftly tore through the air and enveloped Luo Feng. No matter how fast Luo Feng was, he couldn't match the speed of this weapon. Luo Feng only felt the sky and earth suddenly darken... Looking back, he saw the black ribbons, like giant pythons, instantly covering him.

"Get lost!" Luo Feng held a war hammer in each hand.

Because he had been disguised among the large group of Law Masters in Xuanyu Mountain and didn't want to be discovered by the alien beast True God observing the battlefield from afar, he deliberately used a pair of war hammers in combat.

"Whoosh~~" The twin hammers each traced an arc.

The instantaneous clash between the captain and new recruit Yinhe, though it puzzled some other tribal warriors in the distance, was merely a source of confusion for them. After all, from the outside, the captain's attack merely looked like 'psychic weapons' used for restraint. They were only puzzled... even if there was some past animosity, why were they fighting now? Was it because of the spoils of war?

"The captain's Black Cloud Wings are truly formidable."

"The Black Cloud Wings are incredibly fast for flight, strong for restraint, and excellent for self-protection—an absolute treasure for escape and survival."

The other soldiers were immensely envious.

Just then—

The black sphere, formed by the mass of black ribbons, suddenly began to fly away at an incredibly terrifying speed, with one part of the black sphere bulging outwards.

It was as if there was a monster inside the black ribbon sphere, flying at super-high speed, forcibly dragging the black sphere along with it at super-high speed.

"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle~~~" The black ribbons gradually tore apart, revealing the bow of an ancient warship. This ancient warship was entwined with black ribbons, which heavily restrained it, yet the ancient warship's speed continued to surge, seemingly unaffected.

The warship's speed was extreme, continuously flying towards the distant high sky. And at the outermost edge of this battlefield, high in the distance, was a winding, circling alien beast True God.

"Stop, stop!" the captain roared. "Are you trying to die?"

"Haha... let's go see the True God together and see who dies first." The ancient warship continued its high-speed advance, flying towards the alien beast True God.

The captain finally panicked.

One must know.

He had also stolen a True God corpse! Although the True Gods from Nine Smoke Marsh desperately wanted to capture Luo Feng, Luo Feng's aura was completely concealed within the warship. That alien beast True God probably wouldn't be able to confirm Luo Feng's identity. Instead, it would first confirm that the captain was the one who stole a True God corpse, and then it certainly wouldn't let the captain escape.

The captain hovered in mid-air, watching helplessly as the ancient warship rapidly dove into the distance, disappearing into the swampy reeds, his heart filled with unwillingness.

"I didn't know you had a mechanical-type warship! That's why you escaped!"

"You escaped once, but I don't believe you can escape again." The captain gritted his teeth.

Moments later, among the tens of thousands of alien beasts from Nine Smoke Marsh, numerous beasts roared and charged towards the Xuanyu Mountain side.

"Kill, kill the bastards from Xuanyu Mountain!" A Golden Horned Beast, like a giant lizard with wings, roared as it charged from the Nine Smoke Marsh army towards the Xuanyu Mountain side.
